Hello friends of Mary Rose!
the Regatta Programme 2018 is out and you will find shots from Mary Rose & crew all over the magazine.
...Good news about Mary Rose:
"Irma" at it's full strength missed Antigua and also upcoming "Jose" will pass by a little north.
Nevertheless others have not been that lucky. For example Barbuda which is just around the corner suffers from huge environmental and infrastructural damage done by Irma :-(
...Here a first selection of the best shots from the Classics event 2017.
Drone shots done with a DJI Mavic - onboard Gopro 4 black - and special thanks to Mandi from SY SKYE for taking great shots out of the chasing boat during the race.
After 3 hours and 20 minutes on sea racing a distance of 50 kilometers we missed first place for just about 3 minutes and got second.
After all with 2 wins, one second place and the first race missed due the front mast damage, Mary Rose & crew got 2nd over all in vintage class A!
...What a great day!
Just after around 90 minutes after the mast has been lifted and fitted, Mary Rose was ready to leave the dock!
...Mast is back in, shrouds are tight and sails are installed.
..Couple more minutes and Mary Rose will be ready!
After endless drilling and setting fresh bolts we are finally done.
The wooden mast foundation has a strong new 5mm steal reinforced structure below.
Today nearly the whole crew came together to check their positions, material and to set sails to proof that all ropes are mounted correctly.
Things went fine while being well hidden withing Nelson's Dockyard.
...50 yachts are registered so far. Amongst them you will find the beautiful COLUMBIA, the impressive 3-masted Schooner ADIX, or the super fast WILD HORSES.

Greetings from Antigua and Mary Rose.
Our Friend Ferdinand (Ferdinand Marshall Karl) is already on site to take care if all the preparations and refurbishments are going fine.
With 5 months to go, Mary Rose will be again in top condition and hopefully very fast!
In the meantime, check out antiguaclassics.com for the current registration list. I already count 5 Herreshoff Schooners!
Today we sailed through the course again at very low windspeeds so it was all up to the perfect trim.
Never the less the vintage B class is ours with winning every race.
After having a good start and no dirty air from big yachts this time, no mistaces made, Mary Rose could finally unleash its potential!
With unusual low wind speeds of 6 to 10 knots Mary Rose again could stay in the lead by being the fastest ship in its class again.
With a little bit more windspeed than expected, Mary Rose & crew could gain the first victory in its class and 4th place over all.
